Returning to Interfaith Works: Supporting the Women of Priscilla’s House
At The Next Gen Hope, we believe that meaningful service is about more than simply delivering supplies. It is also about building relationships, listening to people’s experiences, and showing members of our community that they are valued and supported. That belief guided our recent return to Interfaith Works, where we had the opportunity to visit Priscilla’s House, a residence dedicated to supporting women experiencing housing instability.
During our visit, we delivered essential items to help support the women living at the residence. However, what made this experience especially meaningful was the opportunity to spend time at Priscilla’s House and meet some of the kind and welcoming individuals within its community. Speaking with residents and staff allowed us to better understand the importance of creating spaces where women can feel safe, respected, and cared for as they work toward greater stability.
Women facing homelessness or financial hardship often encounter challenges that extend beyond the need for housing. Access to basic necessities, supportive services, and a secure environment can play an important role in helping individuals regain confidence and independence. Priscilla’s House provides more than a place to stay; it offers a compassionate community where women can receive encouragement, resources, and support.
This visit reinforced our commitment to giving intentionally and working closely with organizations that understand the unique needs of the communities they serve. Interfaith Works continues to provide vital assistance to individuals throughout Montgomery County, and we are grateful to support its mission once again.
Our continued partnership with Interfaith Works is incredibly meaningful to us. Each visit gives us a deeper appreciation for the organization’s work and reminds us that service is most impactful when it is rooted in compassion, consistency, and genuine human connection.
We are especially thankful to the residents and staff of Priscilla’s House for welcoming us so warmly, and a special thanks to Henrietta Morrison for setting everything up! Meeting such kind individuals made this donation experience even more memorable and reminded us why we continue to show up for our community. At The Next Gen Hope, we remain committed to supporting organizations like Interfaith Works and helping create pathways toward safety, dignity, stability, and hope.
