Donating Personal Hygiene Products to Interfaith Works

Updated: Jan 30

At The Next Gen Hope, we believe that dignity, consistency, and care are foundational to health—especially for individuals experiencing homelessness. That belief guided our recent personal hygiene donation to Interfaith Works, supporting Lon’s House, a men-only shelter located in Rockville, Maryland, that provides critical housing and support services to men working toward stability and independence.

Access to basic hygiene products is often overlooked, yet it plays a vital role in both physical health and self-worth. Simple items like soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, and clean grooming supplies can make a meaningful difference in how someone feels each day—particularly for individuals navigating housing insecurity. Through this donation, we were able to help meet immediate needs at Lon’s House while also supporting Interfaith Works’ broader network of shelters across the DMV, ensuring that these essential items reached men in multiple locations who need them most.

This initiative is part of an ongoing partnership we deeply value. Every three months, The Next Gen Hope works with Interfaith Works to provide personal hygiene supplies on a recurring basis. By committing to consistent support rather than one-time giving, we aim to create a more reliable safety net—one that helps individuals maintain their health, dignity, and confidence over time.

What makes this work especially meaningful is the collaborative impact. Interfaith Works does more than provide shelter; they offer comprehensive services that help individuals rebuild their lives with stability and support. We are honored to contribute in a way that complements their mission and strengthens the care they provide to the community.

This donation is a reminder that meaningful change often starts with meeting basic human needs. At The Next Gen Hope, we remain committed to showing up regularly, listening to community partners, and supporting initiatives that restore dignity and hope. We are grateful to Interfaith Works for their continued partnership and for the essential work they do every day to support individuals across the DMV.
